About the festival
Over 500 years ago Llanrwst and the forest fortress of Gwydyr in the Conwy Valley were home to a rebel, nobleman, and bard whose exploits, real or otherwise, have earned him the title of the Welsh Robin Hood: Dafydd ap Siencyn.
Set in the historic Market town of Llanrwst and surrounding Gwydyr Park and forest, this family-friendly festival will take you on a journey back in time to explore Welsh medieval stories and legends. Llanrwst Town Council along with the community are delighted to invite you to follow in the footsteps of a colourful rebel, in a festival which celebrates the people, nature, culture and history of our town. From medieval re-enactments to choirs of merrymen, here is an adventurous weekend to remember!
Live like a rogue with archery lessons, folk tales, and bird-of-prey displays at Caerdroia – the world’s largest forest labyrinth, deep within Gwydir Forest.
Experience formal medieval warfare and witness exciting combat re-enactments.
Watch history come to life on a guided tour through Gwydir Castle and listen to stories of Dafydd ap Siencyn told at the church of St Grwst.
Embrace civic life in Llanrwst’s historic market, banquet feast, wine tasting, gig, concert, and much more!
